Food fetishes are rarely modest. Enough insane trends have already been ticked off such as drinking distilled sanitiser and figuring out how to ‘smoke’ booze which btw, what even? But that is probably why when we see regular (er) trends such as exploiting our fondest childhood memories getting popular; we get pretty excited. Building your theme park seems to be everyone’s idea of fun these days. And they’re not wrong.

Giant slides outside distilleries, themed bars and punny glassware are just a few ways to do that, but there is one part which is quite literally, the sweetest and the most straightforward.

Enter boozy adult confections (fancy right?) Not really. We depend on our beloved childhood favourites such as ice creams, popsicles and bonbons to get us good and tipsy. You might feel some guilt about it, but that’s okay because after having enough of these, it really won’t matter. You could also get creative by calling a few friends over and gulping your body weight.

The concept itself is eccentric enough to promote itself in birthday parties for 21-year-olds and in ice cream parlours (called barlors) worldwide. With menus that include flavours such as bourbon, basil and even bacon, there is no limit to how much you can experiment with these comfort foods. You could also check out Häagen-Dazs’ latest range of boozy ice cream tubs with flavours like Bourbon Praline Pecan and Rosé and Cream for some quick fixes. But if you’re looking to get imaginative, we’ve got your back.
